Russkaja is an Austrian band known for its energetic and eclectic style, which blends elements of ska, polka, rock, and traditional Russian music. Formed in 2005 in Vienna, the band describes their music as “Russian Turbo Polka Metal.” They are characterized by their vibrant stage presence and the use of both traditional and modern instruments, including the violin, trumpet, and electric guitar.
Russkaja’s lyrics often include a mix of Russian, German, and English, reflecting the diverse backgrounds of its band members. The band has released several albums and is known for their lively and theatrical live performances. They gained additional visibility through their appearances on the Austrian late-night show “Willkommen Österreich,” where they serve as the house band.
