The OD505 was a gift from a friend that introduced me to the Austrian Audio family. I use it as my main live microphone and the OD303 as a backup ever since I first tried it back to back vs another microphone I had been using for years. The difference was remarkable and I find that I have more longevity in my touring abilities since I made the change. I would 10/10 recommend to any metal vocalist with a touring schedule..
Dave Natale put the Austrian Audio Mics on my amps when he started with us. I have been so impressed with the sound of the OC18 on my Magnatone amps live, that I had to try them in my studio as well. I’m blown away by the detail and warmth. An absolute classic.

I remember trying out these mics for the first time at NAMM 2022 like it was yesterday, they naturally captured the low end in my vocals, which is something i am always looking for! As well as a mic that is sensitive enough for my Voice Acting jobs but can also handle my loud belting. I track vocals using my Hi-X60 Headphones, which provide the clarity I need and just enough isolation for the outside world.
Austrian Audio are a really cool company—trying to push the limits of good audio with tried and true technology, but also taking a lead in developing new and exciting ways to process and create sound. Im excited to hear what they have to offer in the future.
