Emily Craig
Singer and songwriter Emily Craig combines honest writing with pure, soulful vocals. As a classically trained singer, Emily’s love for jazz and soul has brought her to perform at some of London’s most iconic venues from Ronnie Scott’s to The Adelphi Theatre.
Drawing on her experiences living abroad in France and Spain, Emily has spent the last year crafting a repertoire of fresh material, written and performed across three languages. As multi-instrumentalist, Emily performs both stripped back acoustic sets and with a full live band. Her influences include Carole King, James Taylor and Stevie Nicks.
Emily uses the OC818.
Arturia filmed singer / songwriter Emily Craig at Tileyard Studios in London, UK with engineer Emre Ramazanoglu. In the session, Emre recorded acoustic guitar, vocals, and acoustic piano.
The Austrian Audio OC818 and a pair of Austrian Audio OC18’s were used on the acoustic instruments. Bryan Borcherds, who assisted during the session, says “The OC18’s sounded great on the Steinway piano, and with the right placement in a fairly controlled sounding room, they picked up the tones and dynamics of the piano beautifully.”
“The OC818 is a favourite mic of Emre, so we used that on vocals and acoustic guitar. By switching the polar patterns we found the right setting to match the room and the performance.”
