If I could only have one microphone on my next production it would surely be the 818. I've been using it in acoustic instruments for a while and it really sounds natural and organic, but with attitude and muscle. It captures the energy of the player as well as the character of the instrument and the room. It's versatil and clear. Haven't found a situation where I am not satisfied with its sound.
